Why I Started My Nutrition Business: A Personal Journey Towards Health and Healing

Food is not just fuel for the body—it’s essential for the mind, spirit, and soul. My own journey with food, wellness, and healing led me to start my nutrition business—and I want to share why I’m so passionate about helping others take control of their health through their lifestyle!

A Personal Struggle with Inflammation

Like many people, I didn’t always feel as healthy as I wanted to. I struggled with chronic inflammation, which manifested in various ways—fatigue, joint pain, bloating, skin problems, brain fog and hormone imbalances. It was in my late teens when I realized I had to figure out what was going on with my body.

I went to many doctors and finally figured out what was causing my issues. Somehow, I had developed an auto-immune disease. Between never feeling like I got enough sleep to always getting sick, it made so much sense. At first I was heartbroken with the news, but just like anything in life, you power through.

I began to change my ways about nutrition and noticed there was a connection. When I led a healthier lifestyle, my symptoms started to diminish. As I began exercising frequently, eliminating inflammatory foods from my diet and incorporating nutrient-dense, anti-inflammatory foods into my meals, I noticed a huge difference. Foods high in sugar, refined carbs, and processed oils were fueling the fire, while whole, nutrient-rich foods would help my inflammation and promote healing. My energy levels improved, my joint pain reduced, and my overall well-being soared. I felt like I finally had answers and I dove into nutrition head first.

Discovering the Power of Anti-Inflammatory Nutrition

I realized that nutrient filled food and living a healthy lifestyle was my medicine and it had the power to reduce inflammation, restore balance, and help my body heal itself. This sparked my passion for nutrition and inspired me to learn everything I could about the science behind nutrition’s healing potential.

As I dove deeper into this world, I found that many of the foods I had grown up eating—foods rooted in my heritage—were actually incredibly powerful when it came to reducing inflammation and promoting overall health. I wanted to combine my knowledge of nutrition with these traditional foods to help others understand they can do it as well.

Helping Others Heal Through Food

I decided to start NOURISHNESHAMA because I wanted to guide others on their wellness journeys and show the life-changing benefits of anti-inflammatory nutrition. I know when I started learning about nutrition there was a lot of misinformation and I never knew what to believe. A goal of mine through these blogs is to help diminish the myths of nutrition and food.

My mission is to help women understand how food choices impact their health, reduce chronic inflammation, and enhance their vitality. I wanted to create a space where women could receive personalized nutrition plans tailored to their specific needs, goals, and cultural preferences.

Whether you’re dealing with chronic inflammation, digestive issues, looking to read up on the latest nutrition trend, or simply looking to improve your energy and mood, these blogs are here to help you!

I relate to others experiencing this journey and truly understand the challenges that come along with inflammation and overall poor health.

If you can relate to this, I see you, I feel you, and I am you!

Why Focus on Anti-Inflammatory Nutrition for Jewish Women?

As a Jewish woman myself, I understand how culture and tradition play an important role in the foods we eat. For me, it was essential to not only offer the latest nutrition science, but to also integrate the healing foods from Jewish cuisine which have been passed down for generations. I wanted to create a bridge between the benefits of modern nutrition and the timeless wisdom of our cultural food traditions and holidays.

Anti-inflammatory nutrition is about more than just avoiding “bad” foods. It’s about intentionally incorporating nutrient-rich, healing foods that support the body. Whether it’s olive oil, garlic, beets, turmeric, or pomegranates, the foods we eat can actively reduce inflammation and prevent chronic illness.
